Sierra Pacific’s New Architectural Wall Systems with All-Wood Interiors and Load Bearing Structural Integrity Offer Architects Greater Design Freedom.

New energy-efficient wall systems address trending use of glass, clean straight lines, and transparency between indoor and outdoor living.

PHILADELPHIA (May 17, 2016) – Sierra Pacific Windows unveiled a new line of architectural wall systems at the 2016 AIA Convention. With their all-wood interiors and load bearing structural integrity, the new line is a distinctive upgrade over standard storefront glazing or aluminum curtain walls. In many cases, the system’s glue-laminated wood beams can even eliminate the need for steel beams.

Sierra Pacific’s new energy-efficient wall systems are designed to offer architects more freedom to design on-trend with the expanded use of glass, clean straight lines, and transparency between indoor and outdoor living. It provides designers a way to make a bold statement, while adding more natural light to any residential or light commercial project.

“Our architectural wall systems are architect-driven,” Andrea White, Director of Architectural Sales said. “Each system is custom-designed and custom-built specifically for that project. Our dedicated Architectural Services Group is there to help every step of the way -- providing extensive engineering documentation and shop drawings with all the appropriate architectural details. And, our ever-growing network of experienced architectural consultants located across the US, provides assistance and collaboration on specifications, engineering, and design needs.”

The advanced, highly-engineered wall systems easily incorporate Sierra Pacific aluminum clad wood doors, operable windows, and structural corner units. They are tested to ASTM standards for air and water infiltration, as well as structural wind-load performance. Additionally, they meet today's energy standards for heat loss and solar heat gain.

Sierra Pacific offers sophisticated glazing systems for both residential and commercial applications. ViewMax is offered for vertical or sloped glazing in several styles, and may be structural to carry vertical loads of the building. It’s available with multiple glazing options that meet a .28 U-value or better, and has earned a DP 50 rating.

ViewMax Plus is an advanced pressure equalized glazing system. It equalizes air pressure between the window interior and exterior via individual, isolated glazing chambers with independent weep systems. ViewMax Plus products include wood curtain wall, structural wood window walls, and load bearing window walls. They are available with multiple glazing options, including argon-filled LoE 272 to achieve a U-value of 0.30. With a DP 70 rating, ViewMax Plus is ideal for commercial or residential use.
